Thursday is finally here!

Today marks another milestone in Incredible Technologies lore, for it’s the day we’ve released our first iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game, iQuarters!  And like the fan boy I am -- sitting here at my dusty desk clutching my ITme pennant and wearing my Incredible Technologies foam dome -- watching the reviews, comments and ratings stream in is consuming my morning.  The game has only been available for a few hours and already the buzz is fantastic!

So let’s get to brass tacks and let the critics do the talking.  I plan to use this blog as a depot for iQuarters reviews as they come in so check back often.  Even Jay Sherman downloaded iQuarters… have you?

iQuarters ’til Thursday

iQuarters: Coming June 3, 2010!

You didn’t think it was just going to be magnification/enhancement apps, did you?

Let’s face facts, here.  Focus Pocus is awesome -- in fact, it’s the best damn magnifier app we’ve ever seen for the iPhone 3GS -- but this is Incredible Technologies and making games is what we do.  That “we” I speak of is certainly not me, it’s the 100 or so geeked out visionaries that hide in the darkest, most creative cubes here at IT.  Don’t let the toys on their desk fool you -- these people are sharp and when the opportunity to develop mobile apps was green-lighted, they couldn’t wait to prove their chops in this brave new iWorld.  Where to begin, you ask?

Ah ha, my friend -- we hide no secrets for our affinity for bar games.  I mean come on, Golden Tee Golf, Silver Strike Bowling, Target Toss Pro, Power Putt, the list goes on….  We make games that are fun, easy-to-learn-and-hard-to-master and most of all, social!  (yes, social is a nice way to say for tavern folk)

iQuarters is spill and choke-hazard free!

iQuarters is an innovative take on that old drinkin’ game we’ve all played at some juncture of our lives -- but this is no drinking game.  Sure, we could have put some sort of phony, virtual beer to chug in the game but we thought your hard earned iTunes store dollars should be spent on something that’s actually fun!  What our developers set out do is start with this basics of “quarters” as you know it and reengineer the game to be fun on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.  In iQuarters, you don’t just simply bounce off of a table into a shot glass, instead you flick quarters through 12 action-packed bar scenes.  You control the trajectory of your quarter, as well as the speed/angle at which it’s shot.  You’re given 40 quarters and you’re goal is to sink three shots in each of the 12 levels.   Whether you play straight through for the easy shots, or seek out the amazing tricks and ricochets is completely up to you.  The harder, more intricate the shot, the more points you earn.

But don’t let me do all the talkin’ here, just watch the video above -- remember, this blog is meant to cut through the marketing drivel, straight to brass tacks.  So, here they are -- debuts June 3, it’s only $1.99 and frankly, it’s bad ass -- you’ll love it.

In the coming weeks I hope to get the actual creators of the game on here so you can find out just how one embarks on a creative journey of quarter-bouncing mania.  Our office manager is still irritated by what they did to our conference room table…

So mark your calendars and get ready, iQuarters is available Thursday, June 3rd.  To learn more, visit the official ITme website!

George Costanza’s Milky White Hands

May 12th, 2010    Posted in Marketing

In the famous “Puffy Shirt” episode of Seinfeld, character George Costanza enjoyed a stint as a hand model. His mother bragged of his beautifully “soft, milky white hands” (see the YouTube clip here) -- hand modeling was George’s calling…

As we filmed the Focus Pocus demo videos last week, Costanza was on my mind.  In case you’re wondering, those are my ham hocks clutching that sleek, silvery sweet Apple device.  Did I ever think that my hands would also be compared to those of the fictitious Ray McKigney’s -- I think not, my friends.  George later ruined his exquisite appendages in a hilarious hot iron accident and this is where I profess to you, here and now, that my hands will never see the light of day again.

Good times,

When You Wish Upon One Star

May 6th, 2010    Posted in Marketing

Incredible Technologies is new to this whole iPhone app development thing but let me tell you, we’re no strangers to reviews.  The world(s) we come from – coin-operated games, casino games, etc – reviews aren’t measured in pixelated stars or sarcastic comments, the cashbox is king.  If players don’t put money into our games – that’s a stinky bad review!  And looking at the long product history and glamourous award mantles within our office, our track record shows that Incredible Technologies is anything but smelly.

When we decided to venture into the app space through the iTunes store, I was particularly intrigued to see how the whole 2.0 review system would go for us.  And I don’t have to tell you that the actual developers of Focus Pocus were very excited to read these reviews as well – come on, you would be too.  But as I was warned by my marketing peers, people are people.  I was warned to expect that even the best applications in the world would get equally tanked, as praised.

And like a jack-in-the-box after a few cranks  *POP* goes the weasel!

Our first two reviews…

Yes, Focus Pocus is our first of many apps.  YES, it’s just a simple utility and YES we’re positive it works very damn well, but still – reading our very first iTunes store review was a milestone in our eyes.  I mean – this company has a 25-year history of entertaining MILLIONS of people and here we are in this new, exciting channel.  Good times, right?

WRONG!

While I couldn’t have said it better than TrymySS, this guy CPSSNY had to go ‘head and wizz in our lemonade.  Now I expect hundreds, if not thousands of bad reviews to accompany the many more great ones I know IT mobile entertainment will receive but I was a bit surprised to see one this early.  And what prompted this blog entry was not CPSSNY’s profound opinion, it was more so the fact that he gave Focus Pocus one star – the lowest possible iTunes Store rating –  for working properly and doing “Nothing special” in his opinion.

This lead me to wonder, what does a guy like this award for an application that’s “awful” or “not as advertised” or even “my iPhone is going in the wood chipper” – there are no rankings BELOW the one star he awarded us!?  And since Apple is not in the business of developing more prolific FAIL ratings, I thought I’d help our pal CPSSNY out.

The following images could be the new icons in the iTunes rating system for apps lower than “Nothing special”

Any of these images shall suffice.  And I am filing my idea to Apple as we speak.

All in good fun and good times,

Incredible Technologies – Yeah, There’s an App for That

April 16th, 2010    Posted in Marketing

IT Mobile Entertainment - a new division of Incredible Technologies making innovative mobile entertainment applications for the iPhone and more

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, step right up and witness yet another new endeavor from the innovative thinkers at Incredible Technologies: introducing Incredible Technologies Mobile Entertainment (or ITme as it shall be called from here on out).

My name is Dan Schrementi.  If you’re a Golden Tee fan, you can call me Duffer Dan Schrementi.  If you’re a fan of marketing geeks, you can call me IT’s director of gaming marketing and new media.  What does that mean?  I’m not really sure but I am positive that it gives me the right to set up goofy blog sites to go along with our serious new online endeavors, so pay attention.

And so, here we are at the new ITme blog site and you might be asking why?  Well, here’s the deal – there are thousands and thousands of iPhone apps out there and just as many developers.  As you know, some applications are great and others not so much – a fact that in my opinion is a direct reflection of the company (or cool Apple loving hipster) that made it.

The ITme blog will serve as our proof that Incredible Technologies will continue to live up to our tradition of quality and innovation in our brave new world of “app making.”  In the coming months you will be introduced to a variety of people on the blog, including the actual creators of our amazing new applications.  They will let you into their worlds from a game-makers point of view and you’ll be encouraged to have conversations with each and every one of them.  Our company takes pride in its people and our people take pride in their products – we hope that this blog can serve as a small portal into that philosophy and help better entertain you, our end users, whether you’re using our apps, our games on the Nintendo Wii playing our games in a bar or having fun at the casino.

I bid you farewell for now and encourage you to check back soon if you want to be plugged directly into the minds of one of the most innovative companies in digital entertainment.  You’re going to be excited about the products we’re releasing and we want you to be a part of it.

Good times,

- Dan at IT
